Music, singing,
and poetry

I am a multi-instrumentalist and a singer — piano, guitar, and harmonica — and a poet. The arts are not separate from my work: they are how I open a room, shift a conversation, and help people imagine a future they can feel.

Music and singing

I'm a multi-instrumentalist: piano, guitar, and harmonica, and I sing. I open events with live sets and close them in jam sessions. Music changes the temperature of a room in the first minute, in a way no slide can.

I have performed at DWeb Camp and at The Future of Governance at Tolhuistuin, Amsterdam.

Spoken word

I write and perform poetry, in English, Dutch, and Papiamentu. Spoken well, a poem makes an abstract idea land in the body. I use it in keynotes, at conferences, and in the moments where a room is trying to imagine what comes next.

I see a world. More and more pulling into the future.
So boldly and brightly shining with the light of a thousand suns.

From “The Promise”, a poem by Gilberto Morishaw

“The Promise” opens the Youth Sounding Board's message to young people in the European Commission's report Meaningful inclusion of youth: a promising future (2022).

The arts in the work

I bring music, story, and performance into facilitation and programme design, because people remember what they feel before they remember what they were told.

I created Once Upon A Time, a workshop series that uses fairytales from many cultures to turn eco-anxiety into climate imagination. We read them, find the patterns that make them last, then write our own.

Experiences

I perform, host, and curate. Here is what that looks like in practice.

Live music

Live sets to open or close your conference, and improvisation when the moment calls for it. Piano, guitar, harmonica, and voice.

Spoken word

Poetry written for your theme, or written during your event and performed at the close. It makes an abstract idea land in the body.

Hosting with creative interludes

I host your programme and weave music and poetry through it, so the room breathes between the serious parts.

Weddings and celebrations

Live music and hosting for weddings and personal occasions, with the same care I bring to a conference.

Bring art into your event

I perform, host, and curate. Live music, poetry, and artistic moments designed into your programme, so the professional and the creative worlds meet in the same room. Tell me what you are planning.
